We Have Arrived on the Isle of Wight

We arrived in London and took the bus to Portsmouth and then a ferry to the Isle of Wight. It's freezing over here. Luckily I brought some warm clothes. Right now I am in my great grandparents house. We will be staying here 7 nights. My great Grandad makes wooden bird houses and penguins (he made the rocking horse in the picture). Every day a red Robbin comes to the back door and we feed it. At night the birds sleep in the bird houses he's put in his garden. Today we went to Osborne House. It was freezing and wet. I felt like I was in a freezer. Queen Victoria and her family lived in the house with her maids and servants over 100 years ago. We saw the bed that she died in. It felt very creepy in that room. There were lots of statues of people with no clothes on. On the ceilings and walls there were golden patterns. Queen Victoria had 9 children. We went for a walk to her bath house, Swiss cottage, museum and the ice house. It's a big hole in the ground that they put ice in and used as a fridge. We also went to the beach and my umbrella blew inside out. Tomorrow we are going to Carrisbrooke Castle and my aunty Jenny and uncle Kens place for dinner.

  3. Lovely to see the splendid photos and to know you have arrived on the Isle of Wight.
I can see you are having lots of neat new experiences and look forward to hearing all about it when you get home. All is well here in NZ and we have had some rain at last.
Give our love to all there.

  4. I will see the clouds from above in May when I go to the UK :)
The bird houses are amazing and what a cute rocking horse. I laughed when I saw your umbrella because that happens a lot where you are. Thanks for the fabulous photos so far, I will show them to room 17 on Wednesday. Megan really liked the photo of you standing behind an M&M in Dubai mall :) It's really exciting following you on your travells.
