Yesterday we went to Carisbrooke Castle. When we arrived it was pouring with rain. It had not opened so we went for a walk around the moat. The track was very muddy and my feet got soaked. When we got inside the castle, which is 800 years old, I saw a guard post, church, museum, walled garden, stables and lots of buildings that had fallen down. I saw cannons around the outside which the people in the castle used to defend themselves as we'll as armour, cross bows and swords. In the museum we dressed mum up as a soldier. The helmet was really heavy. After we roamed around the castle, we went to Aunty Jenny's, Uncle Kens, and my cousin Beccy's for lunch. Their house was amazing and it was full of antiques. After lunch my mum and dad went for a walk on the mews and saw a Bronze Age burial mound that was 3500 years old. While they were gone, Grandad and I played games. It was a fun day.

What an exciting time you are having. I love the medieval castles and weaponry in the photos you are showing, great shots! It likes the weather is still pretty cold over there. How do you find the weather?
ReplyDeleteI find the weather very cold. The forecast is not looking very good in London. One day might even snow a little bit, and feel like minus 4 degrees. hope things are going well at class I hope I'm not missing out on anything.

ReplyDeleteNew Zealand is 13 hours ahead. I have tried some new food like Gammon. that's a type of ham. I like jam donuts and lots of new biscuits. The style is not old fashioned but the buildings are really old. I miss everyone too but it is fun here. Caitlin.
