On the way up to London, we stopped at the Portsmouth Maritime Museum to look at the HMS Victory and Warrior, and the Mary Rose exhibition. The Victory was built out of wood in the early 1700's and fought other ships using cannons. The Warrior also had cannons but was built in 1860 out of steel.

Who's the person next to you in the photo where you're in the stocks? Henry VIII? Krishna x
ReplyDeleteYes Henry the VIII as his boat was the Mary Rose. We didn't see the Mary Rose as the new museum opens next week! It was amazing how they discovered the boat and recovered it. We saw the story behind the discovery.
